Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Johnson County Court Docket, you acknowledge the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number submitted through a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. Johnson County Court Docket does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained as needed to prepare and deliver a response. Messages remain within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical information about the visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure how visitors move through the site, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers combine this usage information into broader reports. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may affect how some site features operate.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Court-Record Data on File

Johnson County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of dockets or personal case information. It publishes general directions to records held by the Circuit Court Clerk, Clerk & Master, trial courts, and Tennessee appellate system. Public access to official court records is governed by the Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. ยง 10-7-501 et seq., together with Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34 and other applicable law. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party profiles.

Third-Party Search Partners

Independent companies power the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider establishes its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to court clerks, trial-court portals, Tennessee judiciary resources, legal-aid groups, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select interest-based advertising.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and this site cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a deletion request may be made through the contact channel.

Your Data Rights

Rights can vary by residence and applicable Tennessee privacy or consumer-protection law. At a minimum, a visitor may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. Any replacement will be posted here and marked with its new effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically.
